Churchill Heritage Conway Stewart コレクション
本作は、Churchill Heritageとの提携により製作されたConway Stewart Churchill Heritageペンの第2シリーズ第5作です。この提携を通じ、チャーチル家はサー・ウィンストンの遺産と、彼が遺した英知の言葉の精神を後世に伝えるため、慈善団体や社会貢献活動に寄付を行っています。
“I have no fear of the future. Let us go forward into its mysteries”（私は未来を恐れない。その神秘に向かって共に歩みを進めよう）
これは、第二次世界大戦のさなかにあった聴衆を前に、1943年9月29日にロイヤル・アルバート・ホールで行われたチャーチルの演説のひとつに由来します。“I have no fear of the future. Let us go forward into its mysteries”という言葉は、当時の人々を勇気づけたに違いなく、バレルに彫刻されています。その下にはウィンストン・S・チャーチルのサインが、さらにその下には“Made in Great Britain”の文字が刻まれています。

“I have no fear of the future. Let us go forward into its mysteries, let us tear aside
the veils which hide it from our eyes, and let us move onward with confidence and
courage. All the problems of the post-war world, some of which seem so baffling
now, will be easier of solution once decisive victory has been gained, and once it is
clear that victory won in arms has not been cast away by folly or by violence when
the moment comes to lay the broad foundations of the future world order, and it
is time to speak great words of peace and truth to all.”

「Winston Churchill; Blood, Toil, Tears and Sweat: The Great Speeches」と題された書籍が、各ペンに付属します。この見事なアンソロジーには、1901年の庶民院における処女演説から1955年の白鳥の歌まで、第二次世界大戦における力強い名演説を含む、チャーチルの最も有名な演説33編が収められています。Sunday Telegraph紙は本書の書評でこう評しました。"Churchill was a word spinner of genius....a splendid anthology".
「Pug」ペン
すべてのHeritageペンのキャップ頂部には、ウィンストンが1909年8月1日付で妻クレメンタインに宛てた手紙に描いた、あの有名な「Pug」のスケッチが彫刻されています。すべてのペンには、ウィンストン直筆によるその手紙の複製も付属します。クレメンタインはウィンストンを「私の可愛いパグ（my sweet pug）」と呼び、彼もまた彼女への手紙の末尾によく「パグ」の愛らしい絵を描いていました。頭上に「W」の文字が添えられたこの絵は、多くの人がこの偉大な人物と結びつけるブルドッグによく似ています。

You may select one of our Conway Stewart 18ct gold nibs to be fitted to your Churchill pen. They have been acclaimed by many of our customers for their ‘smooth-as-butter’ writing ability and are available in Extra-Fine, Fine, Medium or Broad widths to suit most writing styles. Each nib is engraved with the Conway Stewart logo.
FILLING MECHANISM
This pen has a dual filling system. It is fitted with a converter (reservoir) which allows the user to draw ink from a bottle or alternatively, you may remove the converter and use standard European ink cartridges. All our fountain pens come with 2 complimentary cartridges so you can start to use it immediately. If you prefer to use bottled ink, we recommend our own range of high quality ink, made in England and available in a range of colours.
